About Fran Dreschner's real life. Im very confused!?

i started reading many things about real life fran in the internet and got very confunsed. I read some place that her mother and father have the same name as the show? are they really them or actors? and then i read more things and more... so anyway what i really want to know is what is true from the story plot of the show "the nanny" besides fran's name?! ... please get my out of my confusionn!! thank youuu!
