How does Following and loving Jesus make me part of Cult?

I know there are athiests out there and such, but I know I LOVE JESUS! Now any religion that says you should love Jesus everyone is fine with. But when it comes to my church people think it's some kind of cult. I KNOW Speaking in Tongues can be really weird to a lot of people but it's REAL when the Bible CLEAARLY states that it is and we should be Born again of water AND the Spirit. I'm sure all churches try to follow the Bible it just so happens we take every commandment of the 614 to be accurately true hence us following them. I CLEARLY do NOT see how that is a cult. In plus cults and cultish things is like doing bad stuff like witchcraft and killing and hurting people. Like the KKK is a Cult. I DON'T see how Jesus is or has anything to do with a cult. Please help me to understand why. I just what every religious person does and follow and love Jesus, its not my fault we get all ectastic for the Presence of the LORD, I enjoy being able to voice my amen and stuff. It's like I get RESPECT from athiests for actually reading the whole Bible and knowing what I'm talking about instead of saying a bunch of hocus pocus some Pope or something made up that doesnt fit with what the Bible says. please tell me the person who said I was in a cult is jsut plain wrong?
